Requirements
Must:
- Diploma or certificate in a related field preferred
- Associate degree in Drafting or Engineering Design Technology preferred
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience is typically required
- Experience with Revit/AutoCAD, ElumTools, and/or AGI32 and digital design tools
- Knowledge of engineering principles and design practices
- Familiarity with document control processes and standards
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a project team and support engineering tasks
Responsibilities
- Operate in a project engineering technician role
- Assist engineering and design teams by creating and modifying technical outputs under general direction
- Employ engineering principles to formulate moderately complex design concepts and solutions
- Utilize CAD and BIM tools for generating and maintaining technical documentation
- Offer technical guidance to fellow engineers and technicians to maintain project quality
- Understand and adhere to relevant codes, standards, and departmental procedures
- Review project requirements to determine correct deliverable format and content
- Actively apply BV Quality Program standards to deliverables while focusing on continuous improvement
- Ensure design compliance with applicable standards through input reviews
- Execute design calculations, material quantity assessments, and detailed records
- Define work assignments and timelines as needed
- Coordinate with design team members to facilitate project information exchange
- Contribute to field activities and maintain focus on internal and external client needs
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry practices
