Research Systems Administrator

- Manage, sustain, and upgrade the ITS Research Storage service, utilizing Linux servers with open-source software like Ceph, Samba, and OwnCloud Infinite Scale. - Create and uphold Linux and Windows virtual machines and desktops in our VergeIO Environment. - Collaborate and assist researchers requiring services or general support through multiple communication platforms, including the ITS ticketing system (TeamDynamix). - Devise and establish new research services, particularly to facilitate confidential research by creating secure environments on campus, adhering to standards such as NIST 800-171 and CMMC. - Work alongside ITS personnel and research faculty to assess security requirements for research data use agreements or grants. - Draft, review, and update policies and procedures to meet SOC 2 compliance requirements. - Supply necessary evidence to external auditors to fulfill SOC 2 compliance obligations. - Develop, maintain, and analyze dashboards for auditing, performance metrics, and general security efforts. - Collaborate closely with the Research Support team manager and the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) to guarantee alignment with all pertinent policies and procedures related to secure research.
