Requirements

Must:
- Active TS/SCI clearance and eligibility for CI Poly (must be able to obtain and maintain) - At least 10 years of systems administration experience, with recent experience within the last 2 years - Masters degree in a relevant field, or a Bachelors degree plus 2 additional years of senior experience (totaling 10 years in place of a Masters) - Proven track record in managing a team in an operations or sustainment environment - Demonstrated ability to provide performance feedback and guide team execution amidst competing priorities - Experience administering Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7/8/9 - Familiarity with FIPS mode, SELinux, firewalld, fapolicyd, and essential Linux administration - Capacity to obtain a Privileged User Access (PUA) account - CompTIA Security+ or equivalent certification (required for privileged access) - Strong proficiency in managing Linux-based systems - Knowledge of supporting Apache HTTPD and Apache Tomcat - Experience with databases like PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and OracleDB - Exposure to technologies including Java, JCE, Java Web Services, Hibernate, Spring, JavaScript, Apache Ant, and Apache Solr

Responsibilities

- Oversee and maintain Linux-based operating environments that support critical applications and services - Lead a team of systems administrators, managing work planning, task assignment, prioritization, and quality assurance of deliverables - Provide coaching and mentoring while supporting onboarding and skills development across the team - Handle people management tasks including performance reviews, goal setting, and staffing needs (interviews, hiring recommendations) - Plan and execute significant technical activities such as upgrades, patching, hardening, automation, and performance optimization - Coordinate incident response efforts, lead troubleshooting sessions, and drive root-cause analysis to mitigate recurring issues - Monitor system performance, analyze trends, and resolve complex issues across operating systems, web/application layers, and databases - Implement and uphold security controls and configuration standards, including FIPS mode, SELinux, firewall settings, and access controls - Support web/application infrastructure components, troubleshooting service-level challenges within Apache HTTPD and Apache Tomcat - Manage the execution of changes by ensuring preparedness through communication, approvals, rollback planning, validation, and documentation after changes - Enhance operational maturity through the creation of runbooks/SOPs, standardization, and automation to minimize operational tasks and enhance reliability - Act as a technical authority across diverse assignments, guaranteeing that the team adheres to operational commitments and timelines
