Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline with a minimum of 10 years of pertinent experience
- Proven expertise as a Database Administrator specializing in Oracle and NoSQL databases
- Extensive experience with AWS DocumentDB services
- Solid background in database failover, recovery methods, and disaster recovery planning
- Demonstrated success in migrating on-premises databases to AWS
- Proficient in MongoDB Query Language (MQL), database architecture, and data modeling. Familiarity with AWS CLI, SDKs, and CloudWatch
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Responsibilities
- Administer, maintain, and enforce permissions, policies, and procedures to secure database connectivity and integrity
- Monitor database performance, implement enhancements, and apply updates as necessary to ensure peak efficiency. Collaborate closely with application teams to enhance interaction with NoSQL
- Develop and execute backup and recovery strategies, including planning and testing for failover
- Lead projects for migrating databases from on-premises to AWS and from relational to NoSQL databases, including planning, execution, and validation
- Implement database security measures, including access control and audit logging, and ensure compliance with data privacy regulations
- Oversee and optimize AWS Redshift instances and other data warehousing solutions to facilitate scalable and efficient data storage and analysis
- Utilize AWS CloudWatch and other monitoring tools to maintain database health, performance, and automate scaling and notifications
- Provide support and troubleshooting for complex database issues including integrity, performance, blocking, deadlocking, replication, and log shipping challenges
