Requirements
Must:
- Proven experience in user-centered design methodologies
- Strong skills in identifying user patterns and requirements
- Expertise in developing and implementing research plans
- Proficient in drafting designs for user interfaces in collaboration with analysts
- Familiarity with delivering QASP metrics related to user research
- Experience leading teams of engineers, developers, and testers
- Knowledge of U.S. Web Design/DigitalGov standards and OMB Federal Web Standards
- Understanding of Section 508 compliance requirements
- Ability to adapt solutions to enterprise standards
- Forward-thinking and knowledgeable about new developments in design
- Successful application of agile frameworks in web solution development
- Experience with Drupal, particularly with content types, workflows, and roles
- Familiar with tools like Google Charts, DKAN Open Data Platform, Foresee, or Qualtrics is an advantage
Responsibilities
- Lead user-centered design initiatives to ensure effective solutions
- Analyze and define user needs and behaviors
- Design and conduct user research to gather insights and preferences
- Collaborate with Business Analysts to create user interface designs
- Provide QASP metrics based on user research outcomes
- Serve as the functional lead for a cross-functional team of engineers and developers
- Create public-facing websites for a major government agency
- Ensure compliance with U.S. Web Design and Federal standards
- Recommend innovative design solutions to clients
- Implement agile methodologies in web development projects
- Consult on best practices for content management systems like Drupal
Description
We are seeking a Senior Designer to join our dynamic team focused on delivering user-centered design for critical public-facing websites for a major government agency. Our work primarily operates remotely, but we require regular in-person meetings outside of Baltimore, MD. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead design efforts and influence web solutions while adhering to federal standards.
