Requirements

Must:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related discipline. Relevant work experience will also be taken into account. - Demonstrated experience as a Business Analyst, particularly in legacy system support and enhancement. - Strong analytical capabilities, with an understanding of intricate business processes and functionalities of legacy systems. - Proficiency in SQL and knowledge of modern database architecture components (triggers, stored procedures, views). - Excellent written and verbal communication skills, enabling effective interaction with stakeholders at various levels. - Experience in documenting business requirements, user scenarios/stories, and functional specifications for legacy systems. - Familiarity with software development methodologies, such as Agile or Waterfall, and experience working within project teams. - Strong problem-solving abilities, with a knack for troubleshooting and resolving issues in the legacy system. - Attention to detail and capability to handle multiple tasks in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

- Collaborate closely with business partners and technical teams to understand and document necessary corrections and updates for the legacy system. - Work alongside development teams to provide clarity on legacy system requirements and assist in resolving system-related issues. - Facilitate communication and nurture collaboration between business partners and technical teams to ensure effective support and enhancement of the legacy system. - Use SQL to query and analyze data within the legacy system, diagnosing issues and identifying potential solutions related to specific data configurations. - Assist in prioritizing and managing the backlog of tasks related to the legacy system, ensuring that requirements are well-defined, estimated, and aligned with business needs. - Collaborate with testing teams to create test plans, develop test cases, and participate in user acceptance testing (UAT) to validate changes and enhancements to the legacy system. - Monitor the performance and stability of the legacy system, proactively identifying and addressing any issues that may affect business operations. - Provide end-user support, including troubleshooting and resolving issues to ensure efficient use of the legacy system. - Engage in new systems development activities as needed, working with the team to analyze business requirements, contribute to system design, and support the implementation of new solutions. - Remain informed about relevant industry trends and technologies pertaining to legacy system support and share insights with the team.

IATSE National Benefit Funds, a multi-employer Taft Hartley Benefit Fund situated in midtown Manhattan, is looking for a Junior Business Analyst. This role involves collaborating with business partners and the technical team, focusing on both legacy system support and the development of new systems. You will be responsible for understanding and documenting necessary corrections and updates for the legacy system and ensuring the reliable and effective completion of these updates. Your involvement will also extend to new systems development activities. This position is full-time and offers a salary starting from $75,000 per year.
