Requirements

Must:
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in network administration or support - Bachelors degree in STEM, computer science, IT or a related field, or - Associates degree in STEM, computer science, IT or a related field, along with an additional 5 years of experience - Ability to travel up to 15% to job sites and company locations as needed Preferred Experience/Certifications: - Experience managing networks in compliance-driven environments (CMMC, NIST 800-171, HIPAA, ISO 27001, etc.) - CompTIA Security+ - CompTIA Network+ - Cisco CCNA / CCNP - Microsoft Certified: Azure Network

Responsibilities

- Oversee network operations and maintenance including installation, configuration, and upkeep of routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs - Monitor network performance indicators such as bandwidth, latency, and uptime, optimizing whenever necessary - Ensure secure and efficient operation of network services including Intranet, Internet, DNS, DHCP, and wireless networks - Manage user access through network systems utilizing Microsoft Entra as the identity provider - Implement the principle of least privilege on network resources - Set up and oversee firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint security measures - Enforce network segmentation and implement secure VPNs, TLS, and other encryption technologies - Examine logs for irregularities using SIEM or log management tools and respond to network outages and security incidents - Assist in forensic investigations by retrieving logs and analyzing network traffic - Maintain network diagrams and data flow maps for systems that process Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) - Document firewall rules, access controls, and configuration baselines - Support compliance initiatives by providing evidence of security controls and conducting regular access reviews - Apply patches, firmware updates, and configuration changes according to established change control processes - Ensure secure backups of network device configurations and assist in disaster recovery planning and testing - Provide tier-2/3 support for connectivity issues and guide users in secure remote access solutions like VPN and MFA - Recommend and implement upgrades to network systems while participating in system architecture design - Research new networking technologies and their implementations - Design and maintain A/V network infrastructure when needed, ensuring secure and reliable connectivity for conference systems, as well as troubleshoot network issues as they arise
