Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field with at least 2 years of experience, or a Masters degree in a relevant discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficient in both Windows and Linux (RHEL & Ubuntu) environments.
- A self-motivated individual capable of driving software projects from conception to implementation.
- Strong communication skills to engage effectively with customers and team members throughout the software development process.
- Skilled in programming languages such as Python, C, C++, or C# (or similar general-purpose languages).
- Familiar with version control systems like Git or similar.
- Experience in building, testing, and installing software using build systems like CMake/Make and Poetry.
- Ability to set up Virtual Machines/Environments for development work.
- Proficient in creating and deploying containerized applications using containerization technologies such as Podman, Docker, or Singularity.
- Solid understanding of common data structures, algorithms, and their practical applications.
- Background in automating tasks using scripting languages like Python, Bash, PowerShell, and Batch Scripts.
- A strong desire and dedication to continually enhance ones skill set.
- Excellent technical writing abilities and the capacity to assist in proposals and progress reports.
- Knowledge of process management through configuration control and configuration management practices.
- Must be a US Citizen with the capability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret security clearance.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with customers and team members to comprehend project requirements and scope.
- Design, develop, and modify software and firmware for bespoke memory-constrained hardware and associated systems.
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to establish and communicate project goals and expectations.
- Research and evaluate new libraries, technologies, and tools.
- Perform full software life cycle tasks, including requirements gathering, architecture, design, coding, testing, integration, and documentation.
- Partner with Subject Matter Experts from diverse scientific disciplines to craft tailor-made software solutions.
- Undertake custom software maintenance and further development tasks.
