Requirements
Must:
- Master’s degree in Health Administration, Informatics, Business, Technology, or a related field.
- A minimum of 10 years of leadership experience in healthcare IT within large, complex health systems.
- At least 5 years of direct experience with Epic, including major implementations, upgrades, or optimization initiatives.
- Proven leadership during full-cycle Epic installations, ideally from planning through to go-live and post-implementation support.
- Experience managing Epic across clinical and revenue cycle functions.
- Demonstrated success in collaborating with cross-functional executive, clinical, and technology teams.
- Minimum required experience of 15 years.
- Deep understanding of Epic platform capabilities, workflows, and system architecture.
- Strong change management and stakeholder engagement skills during large-scale transformations.
- Proficient in budget development, vendor negotiations, and contract oversight.
- Effective communicator who can influence across various domains.
- Agile mindset, capable of leading iterative delivery in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong alignment with our values of compassion, excellence, integrity, and faith-based service.
- Epic certification(s) in relevant modules are highly preferred.
- PMP or equivalent project or program management certification is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Lead the Epic system implementation, guiding planning, execution, and stabilization across all care and business domains.
- Oversee processes for build, testing, workflow validation, training readiness, cutover planning, go-live support, and post-live optimization.
- Partner with implementation leaders, Epic Corporation, and external vendors to ensure alignment of scope, timelines, and resources.
- Identify and manage risks throughout implementation phases, facilitating resolutions through structured governance and communication.
- Ensure clinical and business readiness for go-live by coordinating with training and operational leadership.
- Define and execute an enterprise Epic strategy that aligns with our clinical and operational priorities, both during and after implementation.
- Promote a philosophy that prioritizes the use of native functionality and standardization.
- Manage the performance and ongoing optimization of all Epic systems, including inpatient, outpatient, pharmacy, radiology, HIM, and revenue cycle modules.
- Lead a high-performing team of Epic managers and analysts, promoting a culture of collaboration and accountability.
- Collaborate with clinical and operational leaders to align Epic workflows with care delivery, regulatory compliance, and performance goals.
- Develop and manage implementation and operational budgets for Epic applications while ensuring fiscal transparency.
- Drive participation in Epic’s programs aimed at achieving national benchmarks and maximizing platform capabilities.
