Network Security Engineer

- Assist the Network Security Administrator (NSA) in monitoring, investigating, and responding to cybersecurity incidents to reduce operational and regulatory risks. - Analyze and prioritize network and security alerts gathered from various sources, including 24x7 monitoring platforms, next-generation firewalls, security policy rules, and connection logs. - Support proactive threat detection and root cause analysis, and participate in remediation efforts. - Document incidents, investigations, corrective actions, and lessons learned. - Help maintain enterprise firewall platforms through administration and upkeep, including Integrated cloud security services. - Implement approved firewall rule modifications in strict alignment with change management protocols. - Contribute to quarterly reviews of firewall rules to enhance security posture and performance. - Support software updates and patch management related to firewalls and security devices. - Assist in the security of routers, switches, and other network appliances while adhering to documented change control processes. - Maintain accurate security architecture documentation and network diagrams. - Help configure and manage the SIEM platform in support of compliance requirements. - Develop and refine alerts, correlation rules, and dashboards that bolster monitoring efforts. - Validate the orderliness of identified security issues and track remediation efforts. - Implement endpoint security standards for servers and workstations, including anti-malware solutions and patch management. - Collaborate with IT teams on system hardening initiatives and validate compliance with security standards. - Aid in the formulation and maintenance of cybersecurity standards and procedures alongside the NSA. - Support security audits by collecting necessary evidence and validating configurations. - Help generate security metrics and risk summaries for Information Security meetings. - Stay updated on emerging AI security risks and assist in the evaluation of new AI-related technologies. - Participating in after-hours incident response and on-call rotations as necessary.
