Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Over 10 years of software development experience
- More than 6 years of hands-on mobile development expertise
- At least 4 years leading React Native applications in live environments
- Proven track record of successfully delivering apps to both Apple App Store and Google Play Store
- Experience with cloud-based backends (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform)
- Strong background in CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and DevOps best practices
- Demonstrated leadership abilities in mentoring engineers and guiding technical direction
- Strong problem-solving capabilities to make strategic architectural decisions balancing business and technical needs
- Proficiency in building production-ready applications utilizing React Native and TypeScript
- In-depth knowledge of the Expo ecosystem (EAS, OTA updates, build pipelines, native configuration)
- Expertise in mobile architecture patterns (Clean Architecture, MVVM, modular architecture)
- Experience integrating native iOS (Swift) and Android (Kotlin) modules into React Native applications
- Strong understanding of app lifecycle, memory management, threading, and performance optimizations
- Familiarity with implementing push notifications, deep linking, analytics SDKs, and mobile security frameworks
- Knowledge of authentication flows (OIDC, PKCE, secure token handling)
- Experience with API integrations (REST, GraphQL) and handling network resiliency/offline-first design
- Strong comprehension of mobile DevOps, CI/CD, and release governance
- Experience collaborating in Agile environments and influencing cross-functional stakeholders
- Ability to balance hands-on development with strategic architectural leadership
Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership and manage daily mobile engineering operations
- Define and drive the mobile architecture strategy in alignment with business objectives
- Lead the design and development of scalable, high-performance mobile applications utilizing React Native and TypeScript
- Architect modular, reusable component systems and scalable state management solutions (Redux, Zustand, Context API, etc.)
- Design efficient navigation, deep linking, and mobile routing strategies (React Navigation, Expo Router)
- Implement secure authentication mechanisms (OAuth/OIDC, biometrics, secure storage, token lifecycle management)
- Drive native module integrations (Swift, Kotlin) for SDKs such as payments, fraud detection, analytics, push notifications, and device security
- Optimize mobile performance metrics (startup time, bundle size, memory consumption, rendering performance, offline caching)
- Establish CI/CD pipelines for mobile (Fastlane, EAS Build, App Store Connect, Google Play Console)
- Lead app release management, versioning strategies, and compliance with app stores
- Ensure adherence to mobile security best practices, privacy compliance, and accessibility standards
- Collaborate with backend teams to define API contracts and optimize mobile-backend interactions
- Promote automated testing (Jest, React Native Testing Library, Detox) and uphold code quality standards
- Mentor engineers and cultivate a culture of ownership, craftsmanship, and continuous improvement
- Participate in architecture reviews and roadmap planning for future mobile platform scalability
