Requirements
Must:
- A minimum of 2 years of experience leading software-related projects or technical teams.
- At least 7 years of experience in embedded software architecture, development, or design.
- A minimum of 7 years of professional experience with programming languages such as C, C++, C#, Python, Java, or Ada.
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited institution in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science is preferred.
- Experience with distributed and containerized software architecture is a plus.
- Hands-on experience developing on Linux and Windows platforms.
- Familiarity with documenting software architecture using MSOSA or similar Model-Based Systems Engineering tools.
- Understanding of Open Architecture standards, such as OMS.
- Experience working in software development environments at various security levels.
- Experience developing mission systems software for aircraft platforms.
- Knowledge of requirements, design, development, and testing of software systems products.
- Experience with DevSecOps and complex software build processes.
- Experience on an Agile team using Agile methodologies and tools such as Jira.
Responsibilities
- I lead the efforts to develop, document, and maintain architecture, requirements, algorithms, interfaces, and designs for software systems.
- I assist in creating and maintaining the Communications roadmap and vision.
- I develop and spearhead the implementation of containerized software architecture across diverse hardware.
- I implement open architecture constructs such as Open Mission Systems (OMS) and Open Communication Standards (OCS), while utilizing the Universal Command and Control Interface (UCI).
- I define boundaries for OMS subsystems, including their requirements, service contracts, and isolators.
- I oversee the coding and integration of complex software components into a fully functional software system.
- I supervise the creation of software verification plans, test procedures, and test environments, ensuring accurate execution and documentation of test results to meet software requirements.
- I provide technical leadership for software projects and manage activities related to software suppliers.
- I plan, execute, and document software research and development initiatives.
- I ensure compliance with safety standards and interoperability certification for software components.
- I track and evaluate software team and supplier performance to guarantee alignment with project plans and industry standards.
- I mentor and train others, working with minimal supervision.
