Requirements
Must:
- We require a bachelors degree or higher in a technical discipline such as computer science, mathematics, physics, or engineering.
- We need strong experience with modern C# development and object-oriented programming.
- We are looking for candidates with 0–5 years of experience in capital markets.
- We value hands-on experience with distributed systems and microservices architecture.
- We expect familiarity with cloud-native technologies, including AWS and Kubernetes.
- We require knowledge of messaging platforms such as Kafka and ActiveMQ.
- We need strong command of both Windows and Linux operating systems.
- We expect experience with CI/CD tooling such as Jenkins, Git, and GitLab.
- We are seeking excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- A working solution to the required C# coding challenge is mandatory for consideration.
- Nice to have: understanding of financial pricing models and derivative valuation.
Responsibilities
- We design and build high-performance software solutions in C#.
- We develop scalable distributed systems and microservices.
- We use AWS, Kubernetes, and related cloud technologies to deploy and operate applications.
- We build and support messaging solutions using Kafka and ActiveMQ.
- We implement observability capabilities with Prometheus, Grafana, and Kibana.
- We participate in code reviews, unit testing, and broader quality assurance efforts.
- We collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver and release new capabilities.
- We maintain and troubleshoot existing applications and infrastructure.
- We work directly with trading desks and remain accountable for the systems we deliver.
- We follow a DevOps approach with ownership from design through production support.
- We stay current on industry trends and emerging technologies to keep our products competitive and innovative.
Description
We are BMO Global Markets, part of BMO Financial Group, and we provide corporate and investment banking, treasury management, research, and advisory services to clients around the world. This role sits on our Quantitative Engineering team in our Capital Markets Sales & Service group, based at 100 King Street West. We offer a base salary of $100,000 CAD on a salaried pay structure, with total compensation that may include performance incentives, discretionary bonuses, health insurance, tuition reimbursement, accident and life insurance, and retirement savings plans.
