Requirements
Must:
- 3+ years of experience in real-time data streaming pipelines using Amazon Kinesis (Data Streams / Firehose), AWS Lambda, and Amazon MSK (Kafka)
- Proficient in batch ETL processes utilizing AWS Glue, EMR, Amazon Redshift, and Amazon S3
- Over 5 years of programming experience in Python, PySpark, and SQL
- Strong background in AWS CDK or CloudFormation
- Familiar with DevOps/CI tools such as GIT and Bitbucket
- Minimum 2 years of experience using CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and Airflow/MWAA
- 3 years of experience in performance tuning and optimization
- Knowledge of backups, restores, and recovery models
- Understanding of DevOps and Continuous Integration principles
- Sense of ownership and responsibility for performance outcomes
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Effective team collaboration skills
- Strong organizational and time management competencies
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
Responsibilities
- Establish standards, patterns, and best practices for both real-time streaming and batch ETL data processing
- Develop and implement low-latency, event-driven pipelines with Amazon Kinesis, Amazon MSK, AWS Lambda, or Spark Structured Streaming
- Create fault-tolerant and scalable solutions for high-volume event data
- Integrate Change Data Capture (CDC) pipelines as necessary
- Design and optimize batch ETL/ELT processes using Amazon S3, AWS Glue, Amazon EMR, and Amazon Redshift
- Develop robust data transformation frameworks with Python, PySpark, and SQL
- Optimize ETL workflows for enhanced performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness
- Construct and manage enterprise data lakes using S3 and Glue Catalog
- Set up monitoring, alerting, and observability through CloudWatch, Airflow/MWAA, or custom systems
- Execute data quality checks, validation rules, and reconciliation processes
- Monitor pipelines utilizing CloudWatch, CloudTrail, Airflow/MWAA, or proprietary tools
- Address production failures and conduct root cause analysis
- Leverage GitHub for deploying AWS resources
- Implement CI/CD pipelines for data workflows
- Uphold security best practices, including IAM roles, encryption, and data access controls
- Analyze and resolve issues in real-time
- Propose innovative solutions
- Refine and automate routine processes, track issues, and maintain documentation
- Provide support for essential production systems
- Conduct scheduled maintenance and assist with after-hours release deployment activities
