Requirements
Must:
- Strong business insight with the capability to translate intricate data requirements into strategic architectural solutions across various domains.
- Demonstrated leadership, communication, and advisory skills with a history of influencing technology decisions at an enterprise level and upholding architectural standards.
- Over 10 years of experience in data architecture, solution architecture, or related senior technical positions.
- Profound knowledge in modern data architectures including data lakehouse, data warehouse, operational data stores, and streaming/event-driven patterns.
- Proficiency in conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling using tools like Erwin to create scalable, enterprise-level data models.
- Experience in designing or consulting on AI/ML and IoT architectures, ensuring smooth integration into enterprise data ecosystems.
- Extensive experience in architecture governance, conducting design reviews, and ensuring adherence to enterprise standards in large-scale environments.
- In-depth understanding of data security principles such as RBAC, ABAC, encryption, and tokenization.
- Comprehensive technical skills in cloud platforms, data engineering, security, observability, databases, and BI tools, including:
- Cloud Platforms: AWS (S3, Glue, Redshift, EMR, IAM, Lake Formation); GCP (BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub).
- Data Engineering & Analytics: Databricks (Delta Lake, SQL, ML, Unity Catalog, Workflows).
- Data Virtualization & Security: Denodo, Protegrity.
- Observability & Operations: Datadog, ServiceNow.
- Databases: Enterprise RDBMS (Oracle, SQL Server, DB2); Cloud data stores (Snowflake, DynamoDB, BigQuery).
- BI Tools: Tableau, Alteryx, Power BI.
- Exceptional ability to evaluate architectural trade-offs, communicate design rationale, and align decisions with business goals for both technical and non-technical audiences.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic guidance and oversight for enterprise data initiatives by developing and enforcing architecture standards, patterns, and best practices aligned with organizational aims.
- Participate in the Architecture Review Board (ARB) to evaluate and approve data architecture designs across platforms and business domains.
- Assess comprehensive data lifecycle architectures—including ingestion, storage, processing, modeling, and consumption—for scalability, security, and cost-effectiveness.
- Identify architectural risks, gaps, and technical debt, and propose mitigation measures.
- Advise on technology selection and trade-off decisions to ensure optimal solutions for business requirements.
- Mentor engineering and analytics teams to enhance architectural maturity and quality.
- Facilitate solution decisions across cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments, ensuring interoperability and compliance.
- Achieve measurable outcomes, such as consistent delivery of robust, enterprise-grade data architectures, reduced risk and technical debt through effective governance, improved compliance and security across all data solutions, and accelerated delivery through standardized practices and clear architectural guidelines.
