Requirements
Must:
- Extensive knowledge of Azure data services (Databricks, Data Lake Storage, ADF, Event/Message services) and corresponding patterns.
- Previous experience in architecture involving Hadoop/Cloudera (HDFS, Spark, Hive/Impala, Ranger/Sentry) and integration design.
- Proficient in hybrid connectivity (ExpressRoute/VPN), networking, security enhancement, and identity management (RBAC).
- Expertise in data governance practices, including cataloging, schema evolution, and audit frameworks.
- Experience in designing for scalability and performance in batch and stream processing; ensuring reliability and disaster recovery in diverse environments.
- Knowledge of cost management and FinOps for clusters, storage tiers, and scheduling practices.
- Skilled in creating reference architectures, standards, and blueprint documentation; leading design reviews.
- Agile mindset focused on iterative evolution, minimum viable products, component enhancements, and migration strategies.
- Effective communication skills to align business, compliance, and engineering needs; experienced in stakeholder engagement and presentations.
- Capability to mentor engineering teams and collaborate with project managers on roadmaps and dependencies.
Responsibilities
- Own the design and roadmap for hybrid big data platforms.
- Establish reference architectures, security protocols, and integration patterns for both on-premises and cloud components.
- Guide engineering teams, review design proposals, and ensure compliance with governance standards.
- Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to align architectural designs with business and regulatory requirements.
