Requirements

Must:
We seek an individual with a minimum of 10 years of experience in cybersecurity, including at least 5 years specifically focused on penetration testing. Experience within Department of Defense (DoD) environments is essential, and familiarity with Intelligence Community (IC) processes is highly preferred. Candidates should possess robust knowledge of both cloud security (AWS, Azure, Google, Oracle) and traditional network/system security (Cisco networking, Windows, RHEL). The ideal candidate is capable of articulating complex technical risks to non-technical management in a straightforward manner and thinks like a nation-state threat actor to proactively test and exploit vulnerabilities. Additionally, we value those who can mentor and coach junior staff, especially in the context of real-world threat simulations. Required certifications include OSCP (Offensive Security Certified Professional) and GIAC Penetration Tester (GPEN).

Responsibilities

In the role of Senior SOC Analyst and Penetration Tester, you will conduct offensive penetration testing across diverse systems, including cloud environments and traditional networks. You will identify and exploit possible vulnerabilities using both overt and covert techniques and provide clear, actionable recommendations to mitigate identified risks. Your ability to communicate complex technical findings to senior management is crucial, as you will translate risks and mitigation strategies into understandable terms that justify necessary investments. You will coach junior SOC analysts, guiding them in security response and mitigation methods for real-world or simulated attacks. Proactive research on emerging threats will be essential, as well as collaborating with the customer’s cybersecurity team to create briefings on potential impacts and recommended strategies. Additionally, you will design, implement, and manage security monitoring tools, develop incident response plans and maintain them actively, analyze security event data, and manage multiple projects to meet organizational goals.

Description

At BAE Systems, we're expanding our cybersecurity team to create and maintain mission-focused solutions for a restricted Intelligence Community client. Our full-time salary range for this position is between $130,355 and $221,603.
