Requirements
Must:
We are seeking an individual with a Bachelor’s degree and over 8 years of experience in avionics or electronic controls embedded development within a safety or mission-critical environment (such as aerospace, military, energy, nuclear, automotive, or medical devices). You should have a proven history of leading software development teams, fulfilling commitments, and mentoring team members. You must also possess full leadership experience through the entire software lifecycle, from requirements gathering to verification. Proficiency in one or more embedded software programming languages, particularly C, is essential. Experience with Cost and Schedule tracking (EVM) and strong technical writing skills to create required engineering documentation are needed. Additionally, you should have the ability to obtain a Secret Clearance.
Responsibilities
In this Embedded Software Engineer Lead role, I will expect you to lead a team of software developers in creating real-time embedded electronics solutions for high integrity and safety-critical applications throughout all phases of the software development cycle (requirements, design, implementation, and verification). You will ensure adherence to industry standards like DO-178C, DO-331, and other relevant safety and security guidelines. Collaboration with systems and hardware engineers will be key in translating business and customer requirements into technical solutions, which will include conducting software/hardware integration testing, verification, and debugging. Furthermore, you will implement and supervise best practices for software development, covering version control, coding standards, automated testing, and integration efforts. Your responsibilities may also extend to reverse engineering existing codebases to resolve issues, introduce enhancements, and enhance maintainability as well as assisting in risk management and mitigation strategies for software development. You will have the opportunity to present to diverse stakeholders including customers, managers, and business area leaders.
