Requirements
Must:
- Qualified CFA or a Finance-related University Degree
- 7 to 10 years of professional experience in accounting and/or accounting systems within the financial services sector
- Strong technical accounting knowledge in financial services (e.g., Corporate and Investment Banking, Hedge Fund Services)
- Experience in business analysis and application testing
- Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities
- Proficient in business analysis and project management tools, including Microsoft Office; SQL expertise preferred
- Ability to comprehend complex financial products and system architectures, including accounting business processes and reporting standards (IAS and US GAAP)
- Familiarity with accounting for complex financial products such as Derivatives, Forex, Equities, and more
- Detail-oriented with a problem-solving mindset and capability to work independently
- Ability to critically assess and provide strategic solutions
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to clarify complex issues to diverse audiences
- Capability to collaborate effectively in geographically dispersed cross-functional teams
Responsibilities
- Generate, analyze, and document user requirements and business processes for IT development (BRD)
- Conduct data evaluations, gap analyses, and remediation efforts
- Plan and oversee user acceptance testing and migration testing until successful delivery of the product or solution
- Collaborate cross-functionally to review requirements with stakeholders, facilitating design and development in partnership with IT, testing coordination, go-live support, and ongoing operational readiness
- Ensure proper follow-up and remediation of any unforeseen issues
- Effectively manage issues and escalate as necessary
- Guarantee timely and quality delivery of assigned projects and tasks
- Facilitate group meetings, producing effective presentation materials and documentation; prepare agendas, document meeting outcomes, and communicate with stakeholders and management
- Support efforts to enhance the overall control environment, including upstream processes and controls
- Maintain knowledge of the lifecycle of financial Global Market and Global Banking products and related banking processes
- Collaborate closely with the Finance Strategy team to manage current and upcoming transactions
- Act as a liaison within project teams and for the business line regarding data and functional aspects, documenting and validating BRD updates
- Engage with finance internal teams for relevant schemas and downstream reporting of finance processes
- Ensure proper representation of accounts, products, legal entities, and source systems during implementation
- Track timelines and budget, providing weekly updates, and lead or participate in OpCo/SteerCo meetings
- Anticipate and facilitate resolution of unforeseen or blocking issues with appropriate escalation
- Identify opportunities to streamline and automate processes, adapting to support emerging finance projects
- Ensure adherence to proper change management controls, rules, and responsibilities as needed
- Utilize PowerPoint and Excel for analysis, summaries, and presentations to management and working groups as required

Our team serves as a crucial link between Finance, Tax, and various departments across locations such as New York, New Jersey, California, Montreal, Mumbai, London, and Paris. We handle multiple projects stemming from business needs, regulatory changes, and strategic initiatives. Additionally, we focus on reengineering existing applications for enhanced functionality and efficiency, while also providing first-line user support through training and addressing general inquiries. This position is based in Jersey City, NJ.
