Requirements
Must:
- Over 3 years of experience in data modeling, database architecture, or data design.
- Solid understanding of relational database principles, normalization techniques, and data integrity.
- Proficient in data modeling software (e.g. ERwin, ER/Studio, etc).
- Knowledge of data governance, metadata management, and data quality standards.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and effective communication abilities.
Responsibilities
- Design and maintain logical data models that align with business needs and support enterprise data structure.
- Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to gather and interpret data requirements.
- Convert business needs into normalized data structures and entity-relationship diagrams (ERDs).
- Ensure logical models are consistent with physical database implementations and performance standards.
- Maintain metadata and data dictionaries to uphold data governance and lineage.
- Provide data modeling expertise to assist with data integration, migration, and transformation efforts.
- Conduct impact analysis for modifications to data models or business processes.
- Stay informed about industry trends, tools, and best practices in data modeling and database architecture.
- Install, configure, and manage database management systems and related tools in accordance with recommended standards and security protocols.
- Assist application development teams in designing and creating secure database structures and objects, moving changes through the project development lifecycle into production.
- Develop scripts and processes for data migration requests, refreshing development and testing environments from production.
- Optimize performance of the overall database as well as application-specific queries.
- Support ETL database functionalities and processes.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
