Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Business, or a related field
- At least 3 years of experience in general IT, including a focus on IT security or risk management
- Proficient in using Excel for data management and analysis
- Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while managing conflicting priorities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical capabilities
- Knowledge of application, database, network, and systems security principles
- Familiarity with general computing controls (GCCs) and capacity to identify complex control gaps
- Understanding of auditing standards and frameworks, such as COBIT, and IT service management best practices like ITIL
- Effective planning, organizational, and project management skills
- Capability to multi-task across various projects or assessments
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting with minimal oversight
- Keen attention to detail
- Preferred: Experience in the Utility Sector
- Preferred: Background with a Big 4 accounting firm
- Preferred: Experience with Sarbanes-Oxley and NIST SP800-53 security controls
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments across multiple platforms based on established objectives and testing protocols
- Reevaluate controls that have been remediated or modified due to prior deficiencies
- Gather, assess, and interpret evidence to ensure controls are functioning effectively
- Carry out and document IT Compliance assessments in line with industry standards and regulations (e.g., NIST SP800-53, SOX, NERC CIP)
- Analyze organizational IT policies, standards, and procedures to pinpoint control points that mitigate business risks
- Tackle vulnerabilities, gaps, or deficiencies in controls and collaborate with stakeholders to create sustainable resolution strategies
- Identify risks tied to control failures and assist in determining compensating controls
- Collaborate with control owners to guarantee timely updates of control documentation
- Fulfill additional tasks to ensure compliance objectives are achieved
- Provide support to the Compliance Senior Manager or Manager as necessary
Description
