Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors or advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related area (or equivalent experience)
- Over 10 years of experience in software engineering with a focus on Python development
- Strong knowledge of Life & Annuity data, financial modeling, or extensive computational systems
- Solid understanding of data management and integration within hybrid cloud environments (AWS/Snowflake)
- Proficiency in performance optimization and compute parallelization techniques
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with FP&A and program leadership
- Leadership capabilities in mentoring and guiding diverse technical teams
- Experience in large-scale computation, advanced analytics, or data-driven platforms
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and ability to convey them to non-technical stakeholders
- Desirable: Cloud ecosystem experience (AWS, Azure, Redshift), knowledge of AI/ML integration, and skills in data visualization and reporting
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of core code using Python and relevant compute environments (Jupyter, VS Code, Databricks)
- Collaborate with FP&A and data teams to incorporate forecasting models, analytics, and data pipelines
- Ensure high computational performance, scalability, and reliability within FP&A tasks
- Drive innovation through exploring compute grids, data vectors, and AI methodologies
- Work closely with FP&A and external consultants to enhance model execution and tooling
- Provide technical guidance on backlog items and requirements for supporting IT data teams
- Act as a senior resource for critical incidents, offering Tier-3 expertise as necessary
- Uphold engineering standards, testing practices, and performance monitoring
- Contribute to platform documentation, run books, and initiatives for knowledge sharing
- Mentor junior developers and data engineers, fostering engineering growth across teams
- Manage ongoing maintenance, upgrades, and optimizations with minimal disruptions

We are seeking a Senior Developer to join our dynamic FP&A Transformation team. In this role, you will collaborate with the FP&A and IT data teams to design and enhance our Forecasting and Reporting processes. You will be responsible for developing high-performance components that efficiently handle complex calculations and substantial datasets. Our team is enthusiastic about fostering technical innovation and providing top-tier solutions for a growing company. We prefer candidates who can work on-site four days a week in Des Moines, but we are open to applicants in Boston as well.
