Requirements
Must:
- Minimum of 3 years of practical IT systems administration experience (not limited to helpdesk duties)
- Experience supporting over 100 devices (PCs, printers, POS, RF scanners, etc.)
- Proven skills in troubleshooting network issues (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN)
- Comfortable managing tickets from start to finish and performing technical tasks directly
- Experience collaborating with vendors (MSPs, ISPs, hardware suppliers)
- Availability for 100% onsite work and on-call support is mandatory
- This position is ideal for candidates at the intermediate to senior level with substantial hands-on experience
Responsibilities
- Serve as the main point of contact for resolving IT tickets and performing technical tasks
- Provide support for over 200 devices across diverse environments
- Maintain and manage two server room settings
- Collaborate closely with another onsite IT team member
- Coordinate with an external IT service partner for support purposes as needed
- Own the triage, execution, and complete resolution of technical issues
- Actively manage the ticket queue and prioritize tasks accordingly
- Execute physical installations, replacements, and configurations of workstations, POS systems, printers, and RF devices
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with routers, switches, Wi-Fi, and firewalls
- Support a blend of on-premise and cloud environments
- Coordinate with ISPs during outages
- Assist retail, warehouse, and office environments
- Coordinate with vendors to ensure timely issue resolution
- Maintain an accurate asset inventory and documentation
Description
At AutoShack, we are a prominent North American online auto parts retailer, operating through retail, warehouse, and e-commerce channels. As system uptime is critical to our daily operations, we are seeking an IT Systems & Network Administrator for a fully hands-on, onsite role in Kanata, Ontario. Our team is dedicated, and our compensation ranges from $80,000 – $90,000 CAD annually. We offer benefits such as dental care, life insurance, and on-site parking. This role requires 100% onsite work with occasional travel to store and warehouse locations, and on-call support is necessary.
