Requirements
Must:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Educational Technology, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in educational technology, IT management, or a related field, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Prior experience in a K-12 school or educational institution; charter school experience is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of educational technology tools and platforms (e.g., Google Workspace for Education, Microsoft 365, Technology Learning Management Systems, etc.).
- Expertise in IT infrastructure management, including networking, cloud-based services, and device management (Chromebooks, laptops, etc.).
- Ability to effectively train and support both technical and non-technical staff.
- Knowledge of data privacy laws, including FERPA and GDPR.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Passionate about integrating technology to improve student learning and school operations.
- Strong leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to inspire collaboration.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented.
- Adaptable, with a strong desire to learn and grow in a fast-evolving environment.
Responsibilities
In the role of Safety and Technology Manager, I will serve as Atmosphere’s safety and technology liaison to our community. I will ensure that proper protocols in these key areas are followed across all buildings. Additionally, I will work to revamp our technology systems to enhance their efficiency and effectiveness.
My key responsibilities will include:
1. Technology Vision & Strategy: I will develop and execute a comprehensive technology strategy aligned with our school’s mission and goals and stay updated on the latest educational technology trends.
2. IT Infrastructure & Management: I will oversee our IT infrastructure, manage installations and maintenance of devices and ensure the security and integrity of all technology systems.
3. Educational Technology Integration: I will lead the implementation and integration of digital tools to support teaching and learning and provide training for faculty and staff.
4. Staff & Student Support: I will provide technical support, develop user guides, maintain the help desk, and ensure timely response to inquiries.
5. Data Management & Reporting: I will oversee student data management systems ensuring accuracy and compliance with educational regulations.
6. Budget & Resource Management: I will procure necessary hardware and services while maintaining cost-efficiency.
7. Leadership & Collaboration: I will mentor and lead our IT team, acting as a liaison between technology stakeholders and promoting a culture of innovation.
