Requirements

- Bachelors degree or equivalent required, with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience
- Familiarity with agile software development in relation to DoD missile systems
- Experience in software design, development, testing, and project management
- Specific knowledge of embedded or real-time software in missile systems is essential
- Comprehensive experience in software design and process management over at least 10 years
- Understanding of systems engineering principles, software best practices, agile methodologies, and project management in missile systems development
- Specific knowledge of the Standard Missile and Navy weapon systems is highly desirable
- Awareness of the roles and responsibilities of government contractors and their operational interfaces is advantageous
Responsibilities
- Evaluate embedded tactical flight software and testing equipment software along with modeling and simulation software
- Identify and assess software-related issues, reporting their potential impacts on the program
- Supervise software development activities, highlighting anomalies and risk areas while suggesting corrective measures
- Review software development documentation to ensure compliance with technical requirements
- Analyze development schedules for feasibility and strategic approach
- Evaluate software tools for suitability and necessary functionalities
- Compare contractor development practices with industry best practices and provide improvement recommendations
- Offer risk assessments along with analysis of proposed mitigation strategies
- Review technical documents including software plans and requirement specifications for accuracy and traceability
- Assess the reasonableness of proposals
- Potential travel to contractor sites may require up to 25% of the time
- Provide ad-hoc support as needed
