Requirements
Must:
- Active Top Secret security clearance
- TS/SCI preferred
- Bachelors degree in Network Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Over 8 years of experience in network engineering within Department of Defense/Department of War (DoD/DoW) or classified settings
- Profound knowledge of:
- Cisco routing & switching (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, VLANs, MPLS)
- Fortinet solutions (FortiGate, FortiOS, VPNs, security fabric)
- Proven experience ensuring DISA STIG compliance
- Hands-on expertise with Cross Domain / Comply-to-Connect architectures and security protocols
- Strong grasp of:
- RMF (Risk Management Framework)
- DISA security mandates and accreditation processes
- DCSA Accreditation Standards
- Active DoD 8140 compliant industry certification (e.g., Security+ CE, CISSP, etc.)
- Current DoD 8140 compliant environment certification (e.g., minimum Cisco CCNP)
- Familiarity with C2C Requirements:
- Network automation (Python, Ansible)
- Zero Trust architectures
- SIEM integration and log evaluation
- NetFlow surveillance
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain secure network infrastructures utilizing Cisco (routing/switching, ISE) and Fortinet (FortiGate) technologies
- Develop and sustain 802.1x compliance platforms
- Engineer and manage classified and unclassified network environments (e.g., MDA CNET, NIPR, SIPR, JWICS as applicable)
- Guarantee adherence to DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and cybersecurity regulations
- Establish and uphold Cross Domain Solutions (CDS) and Comply-to-Connect (C2C) frameworks
- Execute network hardening, vulnerability mitigation, and continuous observation in compliance with RMF standards
- Create and update network documentation, diagrams, SOPs, and security artifacts
- Assist in Authority to Operate (ATO) procedures, including STIG checklists, POA&Ms, and risk evaluations
- Diagnose intricate network and security challenges across multi-vendor environments
- Collaborate with cybersecurity, systems engineering, and mission stakeholders to ensure secure, reliable operations
- Assist with audits, inspections, and compliance validation activities
