Must:
We require candidates to possess an active DoD TS/SCI clearance at the time of hire. A Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline is essential. You should hold a CISSP certification, aligning with DoD 8570/8140 IAM Level II standards. Additionally, we expect you to have over 5 years of cybersecurity experience within DoD, Intelligence Community, or R&D settings, specifically focusing on Risk Management Framework (RMF) and Authorization to Operate (ATO) responsibilities.
Hands-on experience in the following areas is crucial:
- Managing Assessment and Authorization (A&A) for classified systems (Secret/SCI/SAP)
- Developing and evaluating System Security Plans (SSP)
- Conducting NIST-based security control assessments
- Performing NIST risk assessments and risk analyses
- Knowledge of DISA STIGs, vulnerability management, and secure configuration validation
A strong grasp of DoDI 8500.01, DoDI 8510.01, CNSSI 1253, and NIST SP 800-37/53 frameworks is necessary. Experience in leading or assisting with high-visibility client meetings and engaging with system owners and executive management is also required. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are essential, including the ability to create clear, professional documentation and reports.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will lead and uphold RMF Assessment & Authorization (A&A) documentation and processes, which includes:
- Creating, reviewing, and maintaining System Security Plans (SSP)
- Developing Plans of Action & Milestones (POA&Ms)
- Preparing Security Assessment Reports (SARs) and Risk Assessment Reports (RARs)
- Compiling Assessment & Authorization (A&A) packages
You will conduct and document Security Control Assessments, Security Control Testing, and risk analyses in accordance with NIST SP 800-53 and DoDI 8510.01. Moreover, you will develop, assess, and sustain Contingency Plans and system-level security procedures. Applying DISA STIGs, secure baselines, and configuration management controls to both classified and unclassified systems will be part of your responsibilities.
You will perform risk assessments and devise mitigation strategies to address vulnerabilities, enhancing system posture. Supporting audits, inspections, and readiness assessments for ATO maintenance and continuous monitoring will also fall under your duties. Additional cybersecurity tasks as directed by the RISE task leads or Government Customer will be expected.
