Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related field.
- Proficient in routing and switching technologies.
- Strong understanding of common networking protocols: Ethernet, VLAN, Spanning-Tree, LAG/MLAG, ARP, IPv4, static and BGP routing, NAT, VRF, VRRP/VARP, VXLAN, L2/L3 EVPN, Multicast PIM-SM (Arista EOS preferred).
- Familiarity with Wi-Fi standards, time synchronization methods (PTP/NTP), DNS/DHCP, and load balancing is advantageous.
- Knowledge of datacenter and campus network infrastructure design and support needs.
- Expertise in next-generation firewalls, secure web gateways, and advanced security technologies: Application detection, SSL inspection, URL categorization, IDS/IPS, DLP, sandboxing, DDOS protection, DNS security (Palo Alto & Zscaler preferred).
- Experience with Linux networking and command-line tools.
- Practical experience with automation tools such as Ansible, Python, Git, Visual Studio Code, REST APIs, YAML/JSON, Docker, Gitlab CI/CD, Netbox, Eve-NG, SQL databases is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of SNMP and Syslog (LibreNMS, Prometheus/Grafana & OpenSearch preferred).
- Understanding of streaming telemetry and OpenConfig/gNMI is a plus.
- Familiarity with Amazon AWS and JIRA.
- Exceptional attention to detail along with a structured, process-oriented approach.
- Ability to adhere to procedures meticulously and assess changes for potential risks.
- Comfortable in environments where uptime, latency, and reliability are of utmost importance.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
Responsibilities
- Review, validate, and implement network configuration changes in production environments with a focus on minimizing risk and ensuring accuracy.
- Carry out production changes adhering to established change management practices, including testing and rollbacks.
- Conduct peer reviews of network modifications, automation scripts, and deployment strategies.
- Collaborate with network engineering, security, and DevOps teams to guarantee safe and reliable releases.
- Participate in scheduled maintenance windows and on-call duty rotations.
- Diagnose and resolve production-related incidents, performing root-cause analysis and contributing to post-incident evaluations.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation for production configurations, operational procedures, and standards.
