Requirements
Must:
- 6+ years of practical experience in Java development
- Proficient in coding, debugging, performance tuning, and unit testing
- Strong grasp of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles and design patterns
- Excellent SQL skills with a background in writing optimized queries
- Familiar with both Linux and Windows operating systems
- Working knowledge of Kubernetes for container orchestration and deployment
- Experience developing applications in cloud environments (public or private)
- Awareness of DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines
- Experience in vulnerability management and secure coding methodologies
- Strong analytical abilities, troubleshooting skills, and effective communication
Responsibilities
- Create, develop, and sustain backend services and RESTful APIs
- Enhance functionalities across various Compliance applications
- Generate new Compliance reports by sourcing and transforming data from enterprise Data Lake environments
- Execute data quality controls including validation rules and automated accuracy checks
- Broaden the Compliance platform to accommodate Capital Markets regulatory initiatives
- Design secure, versioned APIs and data feeds complete with detailed documentation
- Deliver Level 3 production support involving root cause analysis, troubleshooting, and issue resolution
- Improve system performance through query tuning and service restructuring
- Engage in code reviews and architectural discussions
- Collaborate closely with front-end engineering and integration teams
- Work independently and meet tight project deadlines
Description
We are looking for an Intermediate Java Developer (Contractor) to assist with our enterprise Compliance and Capital Markets technology projects. This position emphasizes the development and improvement of backend services, RESTful APIs, and data processing pipelines that facilitate regulatory reporting and compliance efforts. Our team operates in a dynamic environment where collaboration with front-end engineers, data teams, and global stakeholders is key. We offer a competitive salary of $106,000.00-$116,000.00 per year, along with benefits including dental and vision care, and paid time off. This role is in-person.
