Requirements
Must:
- Active Top Secret clearance
- Bachelors degree or higher
- Over 7 years of experience in network management with direct involvement in configurations and security implementations on LAN and WAN equipment
- Certifications in system security, network infrastructure, access control, cryptography, assessments and audits, and organizational security
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Incident Response lifecycle within the Bureau of the Census at the Department of Commerce against 24/7 threats, vulnerabilities, and events
- Provide guidance on security and cybersecurity intelligence, capabilities status, trend analysis, and personnel preparedness to strengthen incident response
- Advise leadership on multi-faceted threat remediation and enhancing capabilities
- Utilize multi-source Cyber Intelligence to improve cybersecurity posture
- Guide Security Operations and Infrastructure teams on threat mitigation and system enhancements
- Meet, exceed, and expand customer goals and mission requirements
- Coordinate with multi-partner teams regarding security posture and national regulatory compliance
- Foster knowledge and skills training in security, cybersecurity, and contingency requirements
- Mentor SOC team members on procedures, schedules, training, and performance management
- Develop and enforce best practices for network security and recovery procedures
- Troubleshoot network connectivity and performance issues during incidents
- Integrate new systems with existing network and security architecture
- Monitor network capacity and performance
- Advise on network patching and expansion strategies to protect data against threats
- Provide feedback on network requirements and infrastructure
- Test and maintain network infrastructure, including software and hardware systems
