Requirements
Must:
- A Bachelor’s degree or higher.
- Over 10 years of experience in cyber threat hunting and providing forensic support for incident response.
- Active Secret clearance is mandatory.
- Advanced knowledge of TCP/IP networking and related services.
- Proficiency with forensic tools such as EnCase, Sleuthkit, and FTK.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with attacker techniques related to email, app-based, and cloud threats.
- Ability to analyze malicious code and identify systemic vulnerabilities.
- Experience with programming languages like Python, PowerShell, or bash is preferred.
- Knowledge of query languages used in popular SIEM products like Splunk or Sentinel is a plus.
- Licenses or certifications such as GIAC Certified Detection Analyst, GIAC Certified Threat Hunter, or similar qualifications are preferred.
Responsibilities
- I will conduct analyses of log files and digital evidence to identify intruders during network breaches.
- I will confirm details of intrusions and seek new information through dynamic analysis.
- I will create forensically sound duplicates of evidence to safeguard original data.
- I will present a technical summary of my findings in line with established reporting protocols.
- I will ensure adherence to the chain of custody and relevant federal guidelines for all digital media.
- I will identify and report forensic artifacts related to specific operating systems accurately.
- I will employ data carving techniques to extract critical information.
- I will gather and analyze intrusion artifacts to enhance cyber defense efforts.
- I will recognize threat tactics and align them with established frameworks like MITRE ATT&CK.
- I will perform threat hunts using either intelligence or hypothesis-driven approaches.
- I will utilize cloud-native methods to devise automated response tactics against cyber threats.
- I will employ Agile methodologies to manage intelligence and project workflow.
- I will conduct independent research on intelligence reports to inform detection strategies.
