Requirements

Must:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Biomedical, Electrical, or Software Engineering) is mandatory - At least 5 years of relevant experience required - Proficient in using 3D-CAD software such as Solidworks, Materialise 3-matic, Mimics, and/or Pro/E - Familiar with FDA and ISO guidelines regarding the development of medical devices - Preferred knowledge of manufacturing processes - Project management and communication skills training is a plus - Basic understanding of anatomy, particularly joint anatomy, is preferred - Comprehensive understanding of the surgical planning and design processes, with the ability to train others - Technical expertise in development methodologies, design principles, and project execution - Preferred knowledge of orthopedic surgery principles, theories, and products

Responsibilities

- Oversee the complete life cycle development of medical devices, including initiation, design, development, execution, and product maintenance - Assist in the design of patient-specific implants and surgical instruments, as well as surgical planning activities - Create components or functional systems and refine existing designs to enhance product development and manufacturing processes - Act as a technical lead for both internal teams and customers - Cultivate relationships with new and existing customers via technical presentations and site visits - Provide feedback on surgical planning to other team members within the department - Suggest modifications to improve the quality of products and processes - Maintain design history files for assigned projects, complying with company design control procedures - Provide technical support to the Regulatory department for specific projects as needed - Collaborate with Marketing and Product Management to furnish technical details for training and marketing initiatives - Assist Manufacturing in identifying and implementing processing improvements - Train and educate surgeon and distributor customers on the technical aspects of assigned products as necessary - Assess the need for testing and initiate testing for assigned products - Timely report on the progress and status of assigned projects - Travel to support surgical cases may be required up to 15% of the time, including occasional off-hours support
