Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a comparable discipline.
- 5-10 years of experience in a testing or validation capacity.
- Familiarity with testing tools such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and power analyzers.
- Basic knowledge of EV charging protocols and power systems is advantageous.
- Experience in scripting languages (e.g., Python, MATLAB) for test automation is preferable.
- Strong analytical skills along with proficient problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
- Knowledge of EV charging systems and technology from a hardware and system perspective.
- Understanding of mixed signal design from an electrical standpoint.
- Familiarity with product level testing.
- Experience in design of embedded products like EV chargers or similar high-power devices is a plus.
- Knowledge of component level testing, system level testing, and product level testing is beneficial.
- Awareness of pre-compliance and certification testing would be advantageous.
- Familiarity with test automation and scripting is beneficial.
- Exposure to EVSE or automotive system testing is desired.
- Understanding of communication protocols such as CAN, Modbus, or Ethernet is appreciated.
- Experience with test management tools (e.g., Jira, TestRail) is valuable.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the formulation and execution of test plans for EV charging hardware and software systems.
- Establish and manage test setups, including power electronics, communication interfaces (OCPP, ISO 15118), and vehicle simulators.
- Conduct functional, regression, and stress testing on Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE).
- Clearly document testing procedures, outcomes, and irregularities in an organized fashion.
- Collaborate with design, firmware, and systems engineering teams to identify and resolve issues.
- Facilitate compliance testing aligned with industry standards (e.g., UL, IEC, SAE).
- Contribute to the continuous enhancement of testing processes and automation frameworks.
