Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Over 15 years of experience in the Loads & Dynamics sector.
- Strong knowledge of structural dynamics, aeroelasticity, and aircraft load principles.
- Proven expertise in flutter analysis, modal analysis, and developing external loads for aircraft or similar aerospace vehicles.
- Proficient with industry-standard tools such as NASTRAN-based solvers, FEM pre/post-processors, and aeroelastic analysis software.
- Experienced in Ground Vibration Testing (GVT), Structural Mode Interaction (SMI), and correlated test/analysis procedures.
- Comprehensive understanding of aircraft structural behavior, encompassing composites, sandwich structures, bonded joints, and key airframe components.
- Capability to perform both manual calculations and advanced Finite Element Analysis (FEA), utilizing sound engineering judgment in both areas.
- Strong programming or automation abilities (e.g., MATLAB, Python, or similar) to facilitate loads processing, data reduction, or analysis workflows.
- Comfortable working in dynamic, multidisciplinary development settings, including flight test or prototype programs.
- Excellent technical communication skills, capable of articulating analysis assumptions, risks, and outcomes to varied audiences.
Responsibilities
- Develop, evaluate, and take ownership of aircraft external loads throughout all design stages, from early conceptual sizing to detailed certification validation.
- Conduct static and dynamic structural analyses, covering maneuver, gust, ground, and environmental loading scenarios.
- Lead and implement flutter, aeroelastic stability, and structural dynamics evaluations at both component and full-vehicle levels.
- Plan, execute, and process Ground Vibration Testing (GVT) and Structural Mode Interaction (SMI) tests and related modal evaluations, ensuring model correlation and adjustment.
- Assist in flight flutter testing, which includes conducting pre-test evaluations, real-time observation, and post-flight data analysis.
- Create and sustain finite element models tailored for loads and dynamics applications, ensuring consistency with structural design assumptions and testing outcomes.
- Develop and validate analytical methods, scripts, and tools to promote efficient, repeatable loads and aeroelastic assessments.
- Collaborate extensively with stress, structural design, flight test, and systems teams to guarantee that loads and dynamics assumptions are comprehensively understood and accurately applied.
