Requirements
Must:
- 5-7 years of experience in DevOps, platform engineering, or site reliability engineering (SRE) focused on data platforms.
- Advanced expertise in AWS services: IAM, VPC, CloudFormation/CDK/Terraform, CodePipeline, CodeBuild, ECS/EKS, S3, KMS.
- Significant experience in constructing CI/CD pipelines for data processing tasks (beyond application deployments).
- Proficient in infrastructure as code using Terraform (preferred) or CloudFormation/CDK.
- Knowledge of container orchestration tools (ECS, EKS) and serverless computing options (Lambda, Glue).
- Experience with secrets management solutions like AWS Secrets Manager and Parameter Store.
- Understanding of cost optimization strategies for AWS data services (Glue, EMR, Kinesis, S3).
- Familiarity with monitoring solutions such as CloudWatch, Grafana, and alerting setups.
- Scripting abilities in Bash, Python, or similar languages.
- Previous experience in highly regulated or security-sensitive environments.
- AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer) are a plus.
- Experience with GitOps practices (ArgoCD, Flux) is advantageous.
- Familiarity with FinOps methodologies and AWS cost management tools is preferred.
- Prior experience supporting data lake or lakehouse infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Develop and sustain CI/CD pipelines for automated testing, validation, and deployment of ingestion and ETL processes across development, staging, and production environments.
- Implement infrastructure-as-code (IaC) for all cloud resources associated with pipelines utilizing Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK.
- Configure and supervise secrets, credentials, and cross-account/VPC connectivity necessary for source system integration.
- Design autoscaling strategies for ingestion compute resources to optimally handle fluctuating data volumes while managing costs.
- Create cost monitoring dashboards and provide continual recommendations for cost efficiency in ingestion compute spending.
- Collaborate with Boeings platform, security, and network teams to secure approvals, increase quotas, and provision connectivity.
- Ensure deployment processes allow for zero-downtime updates and rollback options.
- Manage environment configuration, branching strategies, and release workflows in accordance with Boeings CI/CD protocols.
- Assist the QA engineer in provisioning test environments and automating pipeline validation processes.
