Senior Program Coordinator - Permit Technician

Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree with three years of relevant experience in the field or a comparable combination of experience and training
- Certification from the International Code Council (ICC) as a Permit Technician preferred
- Demonstrated experience in a municipal or university building department or relevant construction industry agency
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction and site plans
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to build relationships and resolve issues effectively
- Experience in managing data systems or applications such as ASU Analytics, Tableau Server, or similar
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities
- Strong attention to detail and high accuracy in work
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace applications
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
Responsibilities
- Provide support to department staff and serve as a primary contact for construction permitting and inspection inquiries
- Read and interpret various construction plans and related documents
- Oversee the intake and processing of construction permit applications, ensuring quality control for submissions
- Utilize permit tracking systems to manage data, monitor workflows, and maintain records
- Foster effective relationships with both internal and external stakeholders involved in permitting processes
- Enhance operational efficiency by updating and creating new workflows
- Conduct onboarding and offboarding processes for users within permit systems
- Perform regular reviews of completed assignments
- Work autonomously and collaboratively within a dynamic team
- Use sound judgment in applying established practices to find solutions
- Complete other related duties as assigned
