Requirements
Must:
- US Citizenship required
- Over 8 years of experience combining SRE reliability practices with strong DevOps engineering expertise
- Extensive hands-on experience with Datadog (APM, monitoring, dashboards, alerting)
- Proven ability to design actionable monitoring and intelligent alerting strategies
- Deep understanding of distributed systems and application architecture
- Experience in supporting production systems and incident response
- Strong automation skills and infrastructure knowledge in a DevOps context
- Ability to create meaningful alerts by understanding applications thoroughly
- Capacity to minimize monitoring noise and operational fatigue
Responsibilities
- Enhance and refine Datadog APM instrumentation, monitors, and dashboards to boost signal quality and lower telemetry costs
- Create intelligent alerting strategies to mitigate PagerDuty alert fatigue
- Develop monitoring solutions that accurately reflect user impact and system health, steering clear of infrastructure noise
- Attain a comprehensive understanding of application architecture and service dependencies to effectively diagnose failures and their cascading impacts
- Provide support for DevOps and platform engineering tasks, focusing on automation and CI/CD enhancements
- Participate in on-call support during business hours (Monday to Friday) and lead efforts to improve incident response processes
