Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in information systems security; a masters degree or equivalent professional experience in information security is preferred
- Active Secret clearance
- Over 5 years of experience in cloud security, with a minimum of 2 years in Azure Government or DoD environments
- In-depth knowledge of Azure-native security tools, IL6 data handling, and cloud networking
- Proficient in scripting languages (PowerShell, Python, or Bash) and Infrastructure as Code (ARM, Bicep, Terraform)
- Familiarity with DoD SRG, FedRAMP High, JSIG, and ICD 503 compliance frameworks
- Practical experience with classified enclaves, hardened images, and inter-enclave connectivity
- Thorough understanding of corporate Systems/Solutions Architecture processes and trends
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
- Secret clearance required prior to start
- Understanding of Agile software development methodologies
- Relevant technical skills in SCAP, STIG, Patching, eMASS, and related RMF tools
- Background in Cybersecurity, Systems Administration, and implementation of RMF tools and processes
- Experience in obtaining Authority to Operate (ATO) for systems and navigating the assessment and authorization process
- Knowledge of IP networking, protocols, and security technologies including encryption, IPsec, PKI, VPNs, firewalls, proxy services, DNS, and electronic mail
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills
- Familiarity with secure development, coding, and engineering practices
- Background in Cybersecurity, Information Security, and Information Technology Security protocols and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and sustain secure cloud infrastructures within Azure Government Secret classified environments
- Apply zero trust principles, role-based access controls (RBAC), and identity federation, including Azure AD B2B/B2C with CAC/PIV
- Configure and oversee security measures such as Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Key Vault, Azure Policy, NSGs, and Private Endpoints
- Automate compliance and security operations via PowerShell, Terraform, or ARM templates
- Integrate SIEM/SOAR tools like Microsoft Sentinel for IL6 for ongoing monitoring, logging, and incident response
- Perform vulnerability assessments and execute remediation strategies in alignment with NIST 800-53, DoD STIGs, and JSIG
- Collaborate with mission owners, compliance teams, and developers to ensure secure DevSecOps pipelines
- Support ATO processes by generating security documentation, control evidence, and conducting audits
- Guide federal systems through the authorization process to achieve and maintain ATO
- Work closely with ISSO, Program, and DOC ITD IA teams to uphold necessary security authorizations
- Develop detailed System Security Plans (SSPs) documenting all implemented NIST 800-53 controls
- Coordinate security assessments with third-party evaluators
- Manage Plans of Actions & Milestones (POA&Ms) for addressing identified vulnerabilities
- Ensure ongoing compliance through change management practices
- Act as a liaison between technical teams and authorizing officials
- Translate security requirements into actionable tasks
- Ensure that all documentation adheres to stringent standards required for federal information systems.
