Requirements

Must:
- High School Diploma or GED (minimum); Associates degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field. - Microsoft 365 Fundamentals certification. - CompTIA A+ certification. - CompTIA Network+ certification. - Cisco CCNA certification (preferred). - Comprehensive knowledge of commonly used software, hardware, and applications. - Strong verbal communication abilities for gathering information and simplifying complex technical concepts. - Proven written communication skills for creating effective support documentation. - Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities for diagnosing issues. - Effective time management skills to ensure timely updates and resolutions. - Ability to multitask effectively to assist several employees simultaneously. - Keen observational skills to identify signs of potential problems. - Excellent customer service skills for professional interactions with employees and colleagues.

Responsibilities

- Provide prompt and professional technical support to both office and vessel-based users, addressing hardware, software, and network issues. - Act as the main escalation point for complex IT issues, forwarding them to the IT Manager as necessary. - Assist team members in navigating and utilizing system software and applications effectively. - Be available for on-call support after hours and on weekends for office and remote employees, including those on vessels. - Administer and manage user accounts, groups, and permissions within Active Directory. - Oversee the Office 365/Microsoft 365 environment, including mail management and troubleshooting. - Manage identity access within Azure Active Directory. - Configure, install, and maintain hardware and software for desktops, laptops, and servers. - Set up and maintain Wi-Fi infrastructure in office and vessel environments. - Support the installation and testing of new software before deployment in a live setting. - Continuously monitor systems for performance and security issues. - Manage enterprise-level antivirus and patch management processes. - Facilitate company backup and recovery practices to safeguard data integrity. - Review and apply software updates in response to vendor advisories to avert possible concerns. - Recommend and implement systems security policies while ensuring compliance. - Prepare and update technical documentation, user guides, and support logs. - Assess equipment and software capabilities, offering suggestions for improved efficiency and performance. - Maintain accurate inventory and procurement records.
