Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Communication Engineering, or Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Over 10 years of experience in network engineering and architecture in carrier IP networks with practical experience in routing, switching, and load balancing within cloud environments.
- More than 7 years of experience in IP networks, including expertise in Ethernet, OSPF, BGP, MPLS, Layer 2 Switching, VRFs, etc.
- At least 7 years of experience troubleshooting complex routing and switching issues in an IP carrier network.
- Proficient in Linux with a solid understanding of core network services such as DNS, SMTP, NTP, syslog, and HTTP.
- Programming experience in Python or shell scripting, particularly related to Software-Defined Networking (SDN).
- Expert knowledge of routing and switching protocols including BGP, OSPF, MPBGP, and MPLS.
- Strong understanding of IPv6, multicast, QoS, IP fast rerouting, IPSec VPN, DMVPN, and VPLS.
- Comprehensive knowledge of network security practices and enterprise security measures against threats like DDoS, firewalls, IPS, and malware detection.
- Experience in designing internet backbone networks with a thorough grasp of best practices and scalability strategies, including managed security services.
- Familiarity with SDN, NFV, and SD-WAN technologies.
- Preferred certifications: Cisco or Juniper E level, additional security and VoIP certifications, CCNP, CCIE, JNCIS, JNCIP, JNCIE.
Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain the UDC network infrastructure, which includes data center networks, user building networks, and disaster recovery site networks.
- Diagnose and resolve intricate network issues utilizing tools such as Wireshark, tcpdump, and network simulators.
- Create and implement network automation scripts and workflows employing tools like Ansible, Python, and Terraform.
- Ensure the stability, security, and performance of all network systems, encompassing cloud-based services and disaster recovery sites.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to guarantee alignment with organizational objectives.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation and diagrams for network systems, covering data center networks, user building networks, and disaster recovery sites.
- Stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies, providing recommendations for network enhancements and upgrades.
- Conduct proof of concepts (POCs) for new technologies in networking, security, and cloud services.
- Participate in on-call rotations, offering 24/7 support as needed.
