Requirements
Must:
- Extensive hands-on experience with AWS (Lambda, SNS, SQS, Kinesis, EventBridge, API Gateway, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch)
- Strong background in microservices and event-driven architectures
- Advanced proficiency in Python backend development; good familiarity with React and modern frontend frameworks; experience with GraphQL is a bonus
- Understanding of web and mobile application architecture (iOS/Android integration patterns, backend-for-frontend concepts)
- Solid skills in database design across relational and NoSQL technologies (MySQL, DynamoDB, MongoDB)
- Comprehensive grasp of CI/CD, DevOps, observability, scalability, and best practices for cloud security
- In-depth quality assurance and testing knowledge (automation, integration testing, performance testing, and quality governance)
- Proven experience mentoring and leading senior engineering teams
- Strong skills in customer engagement and stakeholder management within onsite/offshore delivery models
- Ability to operate independently, take charge, and make architectural decisions in ambiguous startup situations
- Exceptional communication skills to convert business requirements into technical solutions
- Previous experience in startup or product-focused settings is highly preferred
- Experienced in managing onshore-offshore delivery models
Responsibilities
- Design and take responsibility for end-to-end cloud-native architecture utilizing AWS services for scalable, secure, and high-performing systems
- Lead backend development with Python and frontend development with React; guide decisions in mobile architecture
- Architect and evaluate microservices-based solutions leveraging Lambda, SNS, SQS, Kinesis, EventBridge, and API integrations
- Engage in data modeling across MySQL, DynamoDB, MongoDB, and event-driven data pipelines
- Establish and uphold quality engineering practices including testing strategies, automation, performance, and reliability
- Mentor engineering teams in architecture, coding standards, cloud best practices, and DevOps methodologies
- Serve as the primary onsite technical contact for customers; collect requirements, suggest solutions, and facilitate technical conversations
- Support rapid product iterations typical in startup environments while ensuring that the architectural framework remains sustainable over time
