Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5-7 years of expertise in software procurement, vendor management, or software license compliance
- Proven experience with vendor management and software audit or true-up processes
- Strong knowledge of software licensing and entitlement structures from major publishers (e.g., Microsoft, Oracle, ServiceNow, IBM, Adobe)
- Exceptional communication and negotiation abilities, capable of representing internal positions to external stakeholders
- Collaborative approach with experience engaging across Procurement, Legal, and IT departments
Responsibilities
- Act as the principal strategic owner for assigned vendor relationships, ensuring alignment with enterprise technology, financial, operational, and risk goals
- Drive and enhance vendor governance for key suppliers, including quarterly business reviews (QBRs), executive business reviews, and strategic planning
- Collaborate closely with IT, Security, Finance, Legal, and business leaders to align business needs with vendor capabilities
- Serve as a liaison with software vendors, resellers, and auditors on matters of license compliance, true-ups, and audit inquiries
- Work with the ITAM team to provide accurate entitlement data, clarify licensing metrics, and confirm findings during compliance reviews or audits
- Analyze vendor licensing models and audit provisions to identify potential risks or negotiation advantages
- Collaborate with Legal and Procurement teams to ensure favorable negotiation of contracts, audit terms, and remediation clauses
- Keep updated vendor-facing documentation related to licensing positions, contract summaries, and compliance status
Description
We are seeking a Software License Compliance/Vendor Manager who will play a crucial role in strategic vendor management and serve as the main contact point between Procurement, vendors, and the ITAM team. Our team is focused on software license compliance, audit preparedness, and contract interpretation. This position requires a proactive approach to managing vendor relationships and ensuring accurate entitlement data is accessible for ITAM functions.
