Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in computer science, computer science engineering, or a related field
- Over 8 years of experience as a Software Engineer, ideally in a high-paced startup environment
- At least 3 years in a Software Engineering Staff Engineer / Architect role
- Self-motivated with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team
- Experience working with stakeholders beyond the Engineering department, including Compliance, Information Security, Product, Design, Sales, and Account Management
- Strong proficiency in backend programming languages, particularly Python and Java
- Solid knowledge of SQL, MySQL, or Postgres
- Familiarity with RDBMS and database architecture
- Experience with Unit and Functional Testing
- Competence in Linux or UNIX systems
- Proven ability to implement and build APIs
- Capability to monitor system performance
- Experience leading and developing engineering teams through complex project deliveries
- A track record of overseeing projects throughout the software development lifecycle as a technical leader
- Passion for documenting system functionalities
- Bonus: Experience managing large-scale systems
- Bonus: Ability to interpret technical and business objectives and propose effective solutions
- Bonus: Willingness to learn new technologies and utilize them optimally
- Bonus: Experience with the Resy application suite
- Essential competencies include Agile Practices, Software Configuration, Programming Languages and Frameworks, Business Analysis, Analytical Thinking, Business Product Knowledge, Python/MySQL Experience, SQL Performance Tuning, Microservice Architectures, AWS services, Kafka, Celery, Flask, Django, MongoDB, DevOps, project management tools, and Payment Systems with Websockets experience.
- Enjoyment of shishito peppers, uni, or creme anglaise is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Contribute significantly to the development and enhancement of our Global Dining technology solutions
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to create innovative features for our restaurant partners and diners
- Provide technical mentorship and guidance to elevate the performance of fellow engineers
- Set and communicate the technical vision for the team
- Identify and address project gaps to minimize risk
- Tackle complex and undefined problems under pressure or rapidly changing conditions
- Foster a culture of collaboration and innovation within the team
- Document systems and processes to ensure clarity and continuity
- Lead projects through all phases of the software development lifecycle, ensuring successful delivery
- Stay abreast of new technologies and trends in the hospitality sector and apply them as necessary.
