Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Materials Science, or related field with a focus on Concrete Engineering; Masters degree preferred.
- At least 8 years of experience in concrete engineering or related fields.
- Professional Engineer (PE) licensure is mandatory.
- Advanced skills in concrete design software and modeling tools.
- Demonstrated expertise in managing large-scale concrete engineering projects.
- Strong analytical abilities for assessing complex material behavior and structural performance.
- Proven leadership and decision-making skills with experience leading multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent communication skills for client engagement, report composition, and presentations.
- Familiarity with innovative materials and techniques such as geopolymer concrete and nanotechnology-enhanced mixes.
Responsibilities
- Plan, manage, and execute multiple concrete engineering projects, ensuring delivery aligns with scope, timeline, and budget constraints.
- Develop project scopes, testing protocols, and tailored recommendations for advanced concrete applications.
- Conduct risk assessments and create mitigation strategies for technical and logistical issues.
- Perform comprehensive analyses of concrete properties, including creep, fatigue, thermal behavior, and alkali-silica reactivity (ASR).
- Design and assess high-performance concrete mixes tailored for specialized applications, such as lightweight and self-consolidating concretes.
- Lead forensic analysis of concrete failures to determine root causes and formulate corrective actions.
- Review and validate technical reports and design documents to ensure accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
- Act as the principal technical liaison for clients, addressing their concrete engineering inquiries and needs.
- Present technical findings and recommendations to clients and stakeholders in a clear and consultative manner.
- Aid business development by contributing to proposals, recognizing growth opportunities, and nurturing client relationships.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior and mid-level engineers, ensuring adherence to project objectives.
- Conduct internal training sessions on advanced concrete engineering subjects, innovations, and best practices.
- Review and authenticate work conducted by junior staff, ensuring quality and compliance with relevant standards.
- Identify and enact process enhancements to improve efficiency, precision, and consistency in engineering workflows.
- Integrate emerging technologies, such as digital twin modeling and AI-based material optimization, into project practices.
- Collaborate with various departments to optimize resource distribution and guarantee efficient project delivery.
- Ensure compliance with ACI, ASTM, AASHTO, MnDOT, environmental regulations, and our internal safety and quality standards.
- Foster a proactive safety culture in all aspects of project planning and execution, including indirect oversight of laboratory evaluations.
