Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience/training
- Minimum of 5 years participating in the delivery of solutions using ITIL / Agile / XP, or similar methodologies
- At least 5 years in software engineering, AI engineering, or applied ML roles, with a minimum of 3 years leading engineering teams
- Strong understanding of LLM-based systems, including agent patterns, RAG, tool/function calling, prompt engineering, and evaluation methods
- Proven experience in building systems with enterprise-grade security, reliability, and observability
Responsibilities
- Manage a team of AI engineers responsible for the design, construction, and operation of AI agents collaborating with business partners
- Work closely with technology and business stakeholders to identify valuable opportunities and translate workflows into agent capabilities
- Lead the comprehensive development of agent systems covering intent detection, planning, tool usage, memory patterns, RAG, and multi-step workflows
- Define and uphold reference architectures and standards for agent frameworks, tool APIs, and deployment methods
- Ensure agent designs satisfy criteria for reliability, latency, cost-effectiveness, and maintainability in production environments
- Collaborate with business partners to grasp workflows and success metrics, translating them into agent roadmaps and well-structured requirements
- Manage stakeholder expectations through clear communication, trade-offs, and transparent progress updates
- Implement privacy, security, and responsible AI protocols such as data handling and access controls
- Continuously enhance performance in terms of accuracy, safety, latency, and cost
- Exhibit strong business acumen and leadership abilities to guide solutions, maintaining effective communication with engineers regarding business needs and product requirements
- Collaborate with Business and IT leadership to convey the organizations technical vision and priorities
- Create an environment where delivery teams are self-sufficient and accountable for their performance
- Provide input on technology choices, personnel management, and product features throughout the product lifecycle
- Establish open communication between engineering teams and IT leadership
- Foster technical skill enhancement within the organization through education and metrics
- Manage staffing strategies aligned with Scrum and Agile principles in partnership with the Scrum Lead
- Promote the adoption of industry-leading technological trends while assessing IT needs and improvements
- Oversee the adoption and migration of emerging technologies
- Lead, develop, and mentor a high-performing engineering team with diverse technical skills
- Handle budget management and forecasting responsibilities
- Manage production issues and coordinate communication as needed after hours
