Requirements

Must:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Meteorology, Atmospheric Science, Remote Sensing, or a related technical field (ABET-accredited preferred) - Minimum of 5 years of experience (including intern or co-op experience) or a Masters degree with at least 3 years of work experience - Proficiency in Unix/Linux Administration and shell scripting (Bash) - Extensive knowledge of Python for scripting, automation, and data processing; familiarity with scientific Python libraries (Pandas, NumPy, Dask) - Strong understanding of Git/GitHub workflows, including branching strategies and collaborative code reviews - Proven ability to thrive in a collaborative and dynamic environment, engaging effectively with scientists and engineers - U.S. Citizenship is required, and a Star ID will be necessary for access to MSFC

Responsibilities

- Automate, deploy, and maintain the software infrastructure for the SPoRT project - Design and implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using tools like Ansible, Terraform, or CloudFormation to manage computing resources - Develop and maintain automated build, test, and deployment pipelines, ensuring high code quality standards - Architect and manage scalable resources within NASAs Science Cloud environment (AWS/Azure) - Containerize scientific applications and workflows using Docker and Singularity - Deploy and maintain web-based applications that present scientific results to stakeholders - Implement robust monitoring and alerting systems to ensure continuous operation of data feeds - Collaborate with security teams to integrate automated security scanning into the development lifecycle - Create comprehensive documentation for software, system architecture, and operational procedures - Lead discussions with customers and end-users regarding technical status, project management, and collaborative projects
