Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in aerospace, mechanical, industrial, or systems engineering, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience with a BS or 8 years with a masters degree.
- Proven ability to lead and apply systems engineering processes and principles.
- Experience in developing and documenting requirements for aerospace flight and ground hardware.
- Strong collaboration and interface skills across all engineering levels and project management.
- Proficiency in program planning tools and management databases.
- Demonstrated experience in systems integration and defining interfaces in hardware projects.
- Excellent technical communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook).
- Familiarity with engineering drawings and technical documentation.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership and systems engineering support to the Systems Planning and Technical Leadership Branch.
- Coordinate and collaborate with SPIE project staff, NASA Centers, and contractors.
- Participate in reviews, meetings, technical performance assessments, and working groups.
- Employ established systems engineering and project management techniques effectively.
- Conduct assessments and independent analyses to inform systems engineering processes and recommendations.
- Review technical documentation including Change Requests and other official documents.
- Manage technical review assignments among the SPIE Lead Systems Engineer team.
- Track and coordinate Data Exchange agreements relevant to SPIE and SLS contractors.
- Support process definitions and programmatic documentation for systems engineering management.
- Lead complex tasks and facilitate task teams with minimal oversight.
