Requirements
Must:
- I am seeking candidates with a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in fields such as mathematics, telecommunications, electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, Cybersecurity, or Information Security.
- You should have 15 years of experience as a Cyber Security Engineer or Systems Engineer.
- Experience in presenting technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences, including senior stakeholders, is essential.
- Expertise in the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and conducting cybersecurity risk evaluations is required.
- You must have experience identifying, mitigating, and managing IT system Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVEs) and Information Assurance Vulnerability Alerts (IAVAs).
- Familiarity with the MITRE ATT&CK framework to identify adversary tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) is a must.
- You should be proficient in using eMASS to manage Authority To Operate (ATO) processes and in developing and documenting system security requirements.
- Experience with security monitoring and incident response capabilities is also crucial.
- Familiarity with emerging technologies such as Zero Trust and Cloud Computing is preferred.
- You should have a track record of evaluating and implementing cybersecurity tools for assessing and maintaining system security, particularly within the Department of Defense (DoD).
- You need the ability to define requirements for business continuity, operations security, regulatory compliance, and insider threat mitigation, as well as to troubleshoot technical configurations.
Responsibilities
- As a Principal Information Systems Security Engineer, I will expect you to deliver and lead threat-informed cybersecurity products, including risk assessments and architecture design reviews, while offering cyber security guidance to engineering and architecture teams. Your duties will consist of:
- Conducting cybersecurity risk assessments and providing prioritized risk mitigation strategies in support of technical solution requirements.
- Defining security requirements for new technology solutions and prototypes.
- Analyzing solution architectures against established security requirements to identify security gaps and formulate mitigation strategies.
- Collaborating with multifunctional teams to review security requirements and ensure a comprehensive cybersecurity posture.
- Researching and evaluating emerging technologies for their cybersecurity effectiveness.
- Assisting stakeholders through the design, build, configuration, and implementation of innovative solutions.
- Engaging with stakeholders to ensure security objectives, requirements, and validation methods are defined and understood.
- Validating system security requirements and establishing security design.
- Designing, developing, implementing, and integrating IA and security systems across various enclaves with different data protection and classification standards.
- Assisting architects and engineers in implementing information security practices to ensure compliance with security policies.
- Contributing to security planning, assessment, and awareness initiatives for systems and networking operations.
- Utilizing eMASS/XACTA for documenting security controls, tracking vulnerabilities, generating reports, and managing the ATO process.
- Preparing and reviewing RMF artifacts for new IS accreditation and leading the creation of System Security Plans (SSP) for new IS prototypes.
- Building positive relationships among government, military, and contracting personnel.
Description
- This position requires an active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision and the capability to adapt quickly. - Preferred qualifications include familiarity with classified cloud environments (e.g., AWS Secret Region, Azure Government Secret), expertise in CDS (NCDSMO, DSWAG, CDTAB, etc.), and certifications such as IASAE Level III - CISSP-ISSEP, CISSP-ISSAP.
