Requirements
Must:
- Familiarity with fundamental networking concepts such as TCP/IP, routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Strong enthusiasm for learning about network design, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
- Basic comprehension of LAN/WAN concepts and experience with Cisco routers and switches (or similar technologies).
- Willingness to learn how to configure, monitor, and maintain network hardware and software.
- Knowledge of internetworking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.) is advantageous.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team and convey technical information clearly.
- Basic experience with network monitoring tools (such as SolarWinds, Syslog, SNMP) is beneficial.
- Availability to work a standard 40-hour work week, typically from Monday to Friday.
- Willingness to work overtime during critical peak periods and be available for last-minute requests for overtime.
- Ability to travel (5-10%) primarily within a 75-mile radius.
- Familiarity with MS Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, SharePoint, Project, and Visio.
- Exceptional attention to detail; strong verbal and written communication skills; excellent critical thinking, organizational, time-management, and problem-solving abilities.
- Capacity to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Must hold an active Top-Secret clearance with SCI or have the ability to obtain SCI.

Responsibilities
- Assist in managing various projects and initiatives under the guidance of senior engineers using established systems development lifecycle models (e.g., INCOSE V, Waterfall).
- Offer support for local and wide area networking, communications, and related hardware/software within a diverse platform environment, under guidance from senior team members.
- Support the operational functionality of information systems, including computer and communications systems, LAN/WAN administration, security, and procedures.
- Collaborate with team members to analyze and define new hardware requirements, and assist in drafting specifications for acquisitions.
- Research emerging technologies and aid in evaluating new solutions for integration into the network, including mobile systems and Software Defined Networking (SDN).
- Assist in reviewing and updating network architecture and site design documents.
- Work closely with senior engineers to design and plan network communication systems.
- Support the development of documentation related to network designs and operations.
- Participate in maintaining and revising technical documentation for integration projects and ongoing operational support.
- Help identify and diagnose performance, security, and technical issues, escalating to senior staff when necessary.
- Assist in the implementation and upkeep of DISA STIG standards.
- Stay informed on technological advancements and assist in evaluating vendor products under senior engineers supervision.
