Requirements

Must:
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in industrial or commercial engineering within mission-critical facilities, including but not limited to data centers, power generation, or oil and gas facilities. - At least 4 years of commissioning experience. - A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. - Experience researching new designs, technologies, and construction methodologies for data center equipment and facilities. - A Professional Engineer License is preferred. - Familiarity with building codes and regulations applicable to your region is advantageous. - Ability to carry design concepts through exploration, development, and into deployment or mass production. - Experience in reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents.

Responsibilities

- Conduct site assessments to ensure compliance with AWS standards for colocation data centers and telecommunications facilities within the designated region. - Review vendor critical infrastructure designs, perform risk analyses, and assess availability for vendor-owned and operated colocation data centers. - Evaluate design and equipment submissions for new data centers in your area. - Troubleshoot site or equipment failures, conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and prepare Corrective Action (CA) documentation. - Provide direct support for operational issues through ad-hoc training and complex operating procedure reviews, especially for critical equipment and events. - Oversee the design of upgrades for existing data centers to enhance capacity, availability, and efficiency. - Lead, review, and approve designs for enhancements to existing colocation data centers. - Collaborate with internal data center design engineering teams and other stakeholders to promote consistency and reliability in the services delivered. - Manage concurrent projects, occasionally across multiple geographical regions. - Initiate and lead engineering site audits for Amazon-owned or colocation data centers. - Act as the resident engineer during new construction projects, providing support throughout construction, commissioning, and handover.
